How to sync new Google Tasks to Asana

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Google Tasks, Asana, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to use Relay.app to automatically run the AsanaCreate task” action for each Google TasksTask added” event.

Add the Google Tasks "Task created" trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Task created" under Google Tasks. Then, select the task list. This trigger will automatically detect all the new task created in Google Tasks to create new task in Asana.

If this is your first time using a Google Tasks integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Google Tasks account.

Add the Asana "Create task" automation

Integrate the Asana "Create task" automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt creation of a new task in Asana for every newly created task in Google Tasks. Add a new step and select "Create task" from the list of Asana automations.

Connect Asana to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the mandatory and relevant details. You can reference fields from Google Tasks to automatically pass along the right data.

Turn on the playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step in your process. Once turned on, it will respond to newly created tasks in Google Tasks by creating a new task in Asana without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together.
