Set the Google Sheets trigger as “Row added”

Add the Google Sheets trigger to initiate your playbook's actions before adding a row.

To do this, access your playbook and click the "Add trigger" button. Then, select "Row added" under Google Sheets. After that, choose the file you want to work with (e.g., "ABC Company") and select the specific sheet. This will allow your playbook to automatically initiate necessary actions.

If you haven't connected your Google Sheets account with Relay yet, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.

2

Add the “Send message” step in Slack

Integrate Slack automation into your playbook to ensure that you receive timely notifications on newly added rows in Google Sheets.

Select "Add Step" and then find the "Send message" automation for Slack. Enter all the required details, including the sender's name, the Slack channel for updates, and the message body containing detailed information.

If you still need to connect your Slack account to Relay, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Ensure that you allow the necessary permissions for Relay to send messages through your Slack account.

3

Activate your playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step. Once turned on, it will respond to send messages in Slack whenever Google Sheets rows are added to a folder without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together.
