How to send new messages on Slack for new CallRail inbound calls

Relay.app is an automation tool that lets you automate actions across Slack, CallRail, and many other apps. In this guide, we'll show you how to use Relay.app to automatically run the SlackSend message” action for each CallRailNew inbound call” event.

Add the CallRail "New inbound call" trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

Click "Add trigger" and select "New inbound call" under CallRail. Then, select the account. This trigger will automatically detect all the new inbound calls in CallRail to send a message in Slack.

If this is your first time using a CallRail integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your CallRail account.

Add the Slack "Send message" automation

Integrate the Slack "Send message" automation into your playbook to ensure prompt message is sent for CallRail inbound call.

Add a new step and select "Send message" from the list of Slack automations.

Connect Slack to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the mandatory and relevant details. You can reference fields from CallRail to automatically pass along the right data.

Turn on the playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate sending new messages in Slack for every inbound call in CallRail without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
