1

Set the Linear trigger as "New issue added"

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

Click "Add trigger" and select "New issue added" under Linear. Then, select the team. This will allow your playbook to automatically detect new issues added in Linear and initiate necessary actions.

If this is your first time using a Linear integration in Relay.app, a prompt will guide you through the connection process.

2

Add the “Send message” in Slack automation

Integrate the Slack automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt sending of messages for each issue added in Linear.

Select "Add step" and then find the "Send message" automation for Slack. Enter all the required details and initiate necessary actions.

If you still need to connect your Slack account to Relay.app, you will be prompted to complete that connection. Ensure that you allow the necessary permissions for Relay to send messages through your Slack account.

3

Activate your Relay.app playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate the sending of a new message in Slack. Once turned on, it will respond to new issues added in Linear by sending a message as a notification in Slack without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are being sent correctly.
