How to create a new tasks in Asana from specific Emails received in Gmail

Add the Gmail "Email received" trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Email received" under Gmail. Then, select the mandatory and relevant details. This trigger will automatically detect all the new emails received in Gmail to create a new Asana task.

If this is your first time using a Gmail integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Gmail account.

Add the Asana "Create task" automation

Integrate the Asana automation into your playbook to ensure the prompt creation of new tasks in Asana for new emails received in Gmail. Add a new step and select "Create task" from the list of Asana automations.

Connect Asana to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the mandatory and relevant details. You can reference fields from Gmail to automatically pass along the right data.

Turn on the playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate creating a new task in Asana for every new email received in Gmail. Once turned on, it will respond to every new email received in Gmail by creating a new task in Asana without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are sent correctly.
