Add the Google Tasks "Task created" trigger

Every playbook starts with a trigger. The trigger detects changes in your connected apps and runs your playbook in response.

Click "Add trigger" and select "Task created" under Google Tasks. Then, select a task list. This trigger will automatically detect all the newly created tasks in Google Tasks and send a notification via Slack.

If this is your first time using a Google Tasks integration in Relay, you'll be prompted to connect your Google Tasks account.

2

Add the Slack "Send message" automation

Integrate the Slack automation into your playbook to ensure the team is promptly notified via Slack message for every new task in Google Tasks. Add a new step and select "Send message" from the list of Slack automations.

Connect Slack to Relay if you haven't already, then fill out the mandatory and relevant details. You can reference fields from Google Tasks to automatically pass along the right data.

3

Turn on the playbook

Activating your playbook is the final step to automate sending a message in Slack for every new task created in Google Tasks. Once turned on, it will respond to newly created tasks in Google Tasks by sending a message notification in Slack without manual intervention.

To enable your playbook, click the toggle button located in the header. It is advisable to perform a test run of your playbook beforehand to ensure all steps work seamlessly together and reminders are sent correctly.
